UPDATE: LYANA is now named SWAN. (Click to access her profile and to book this gorgeous Benetti!)
Entering her third season in the Mediterranean, motor yacht LYANA looks as fresh and inviting as the day she launched.
On the upper deck, a VIP suite doubles as both an extra stateroom as well as a massage and wellness area. A licensed masseuse is onboard and at the guests’ disposal.
The aft section of the upper deck features an open-air saloon where a bar, games table, and multiple seating arrangements can be found. The large space allows for both intimate dinner parties as well as elegant cocktail parties.
Charter rates from €320,000 per week.

Seen for years cruising the Med, the sleek black-hulled superyacht owned by Roberto Cavalli was only enjoyed by the Italian designer, his family, and a handful of his closest friends – until now.
Cavalli ended up selling her (originally named motor yacht RC) and after a two year major interior refit, the vessel has re-emerged as Baglietto motor yacht ABILITY. The summer 2016 season will mark the first time the well-known yacht is available for private luxury yacht charter rental.
The new owner pays homage to Cavalli with a signature refit by interior design artist Mary Georgiou. Known for exotic prints, the fashion designer’s former yacht now radiates modern Italian style. Décor borders on excess, with flamboyant textiles, gold leaf lamps, and African tribal and Grecian art. A touch of abstract art here and there ties the scheme together as sophisticated and modern. Rich wood floors and furniture, along with the abundant use of animal prints and faux fur offer warmth to the yacht’s sleek, angular lines.
Accommodations for 10 guests are offered in 5 cabins, including a master stateroom on the main deck, and 4 guest cabins below deck.
Quickly zipping from port to port is a breeze on yacht ABILITY. How about breakfast in Genoa, and lunch at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in Sardinia? While itineraries like this are beyond the same-day reach of most superyachts, powerful waterjet drive engines propel this bullet-looking yacht at speeds in excess of 30 knots.
If exotic couture is your thing, the Cavalli-inspired motor yacht ABILITY is the perfect vessel for your upcoming summer Italy yacht charter adventure.

May 8 marked the conclusion of the 21st Annual Genoa mega yacht charter yacht show. The industry-only event that draws the top luxury charter brokers and charter journalists from around the world. Held at Marina Molo Vecchio, the Genoa boat show showcased 65 mega yacht Mediterranean yacht charter vessels, although it attracted 100 fewer brokers than last year, most likely due to the economy.
The number of megayacht and superyacht vessels that are actually in the show is based on the number that can fit at the available dockage. As is the case each year, several mega yacht owners were disappointed, as a few superyachts were left on the waiting list.
Organized by the Mediterranean Yacht Brokers Association (MYBA), many yachting-related vendors set up booths along the docks and represented diverse products, from yacht insurance to hotel and tourism destinations. The most common yachts desired for Mediterranean yachting vacations are motoryachts, in contrast with the private sailing yachts that dominate the Caribbean yacht charter marketplace. Supporting this distinction, the majority of yachts in the Genoa show were motoryachts, with the largest being the 70+ meter superyacht models, Boadicea and Haida G.
There were also a number of new yachts with new crew at the show, which bodes well for an industry aching to expand beyond the economic downturn. New private luxury charter yachts include LEO FUN, BIG CITY, PAOLYRE, SALU, SLIPSTREAM, and many more.
While the 2008 season was sluggish due to the global economic meltdown, many brokers in attendance cite an uptick in the number of inquiries for a summertime charter. Indeed, brokers, owners, and crew are all optimistic for a rebound in luxury mega yacht charter vacations this summer.
The buzz on the docks this year seemed to be the increased interest by both yacht owners and charter customers to explore more areas outside of the standard cote d’azur yacht charter locale. As potential charter customers inquire about Croatia yacht charter vacations and Greece yacht charter outings, the word begins to filter back to the yacht owners via the charter brokers. As more clients express interest in a region, more owners are then willing to relocate their megayachts to non-traditional destinations such as Turkey, Greece, and Croatia, for a portion, if not the entire summer charter season.

We’ve all seen the images – a silhouette of a sailing yacht, lying at anchor near a secluded beach, the sun setting in the background; or the massive superyachts docked side-by-side in a marina along the Côte d’Azur. It’s not hard to imagine you and your family inserted in those yachting images, enjoying la belle vie.
Is it realistic to think you can afford a holiday at sea on a private yacht?
To answer that question, let’s start with understanding exactly what a yacht charter is all about…
If you’ve ever stayed at a resort, you’ve already experienced the premise of a yachting vacation on a crewed yacht. From accommodations, to meals, activities and amenities, everything you and your family need are available in one location. The biggest difference – your location “moves” when you charter a yacht!
Take for example a Virgin Islands yacht charter vessel. While other travelers stay ashore and see the same view from their hotel window, each day you can wake up and experience a new location, as your yacht cruises from island to island. Forget a virtual online slideshow – this is the real deal!
While onboard, you’ll be pampered by a crew of trained professionals – from a captain to navigate, to a host/hostess to serve you, and a chef to prepare your meals. The actual number of crew depends on the size of yacht you charter and the level of service you request, so there will often be more crew members than charter guests!
Just like the resort, the yacht offers accommodations, areas to relax and socialize, and a wide variety of recreational toys to enjoy – like snorkel gear and paddleboards. The larger yachts offer a wider variety of toys and amenities, including waverunners, cinema rooms, exercise equipment – even ondeck Jacuzzi wellness spas.
There is one more distinguishing difference when compared to a resort – it’s completely private – only you and your family and friends and your crew are onboard – no one else! Your confidentiality is assured with 1-800 Yacht Charters.
Again, the comparison to seaside resorts best illustrates the locations available for enjoying a yachting holiday – if it’s on the ocean, chances are there are yachts in the area available for hire!
Here’s a partial list of the most popular destinations for chartering a crewed yacht:
If you guessed that we would once again go back and look at a resort for the answer – you’re right!
The price options for enjoying a crewed yacht directly compare to the prices of staying at a resort. Basic resorts in popular destinations can be very affordable for a family vacation, and so too can be the cost of a private yacht charter. Conversely, ultra exclusive resorts in posh settings charge premium rates – as do the most luxurious private yachts.
To put this into realistic perspective, here’s a sample of yachts and their prices:

Get ready for the next generation of sport yachts from Britain’s most famous builder – Sunseeker.
The brand new Sunseeker 116 motor yacht FLEUR will make her world debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival (September 6-11, 2016), highlighting the Brit yard’s bold, muscular vision of the future of mid-size megayachts built for the Côte d’Azur yacht charter marketplace.
Forged from the hull of the popular 115 Sport Yacht, Sunseeker yacht FLEUR is full of eye-catching angles, held in check by a few soft curves. A reconfigured main deck is both spacious and bright – thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows in the salon, a raised center ceiling, and an open floor plan.
Careful not to let her relaxed elegance fool you. Sunseeker 116 models like motoryacht FLEUR can hit a top speed of 26 knots, placing ports far south of Cannes within easy reach.
