ABOUT THE YACHT

The Benetti yacht charter vessel is the epitome of elegance.  Someone effectively blended contemporary style with classic touches.

DESTINATIONS

Sixty meter SWAN and her crew are now seasoned veterans.  They are ready to deliver a highly satisfying summer charter.  This yacht is capable of cruising at 14 knots.  She shares Western Mediterranean. Her itinerary includes destinations such as the Amalfi Coast, Corsica, Sardinia, Monaco, St Tropez and the Côte d’Azur.

CLOSER LOOK

Let’s take a closer look at M/Y SWAN.  Interior by Paris-based Pierre-Yves Rochon design.  It offers classic shapes, set in a color scheme of beige and crème for furnishing and upholstery.  Everything is framed by dark lacquered wood for cabinets and joinery. Uniquely, a collection of fine artwork by Botero, Dali, and others spreads throughout the interior.

MAIN DECK

Starting on the main aft deck, a large U-shaped sofa offers a comfortable welcome, effortlessly seating 12.  A set of white upholstered wooden armchairs and two additional semicircular sofas give the aft deck ample seating.  This is the perfect setting for entertainment.

MAIN SALON

First, from the aft deck, you enter the main salon through large sliding glass doors.  Warm and welcoming, the saloon highlights the yacht’s sublime delivery of  classic design couples with modern shapes.
One charter guest described this area as, “Tasteful, with an overall calm and hospitable feel.”
Second, forward of the main salon is the formal dining area.  Again, classic elegance has been embellished with a contemporary color palette. What a perfect location for a sophisticated dinner party.

SPIRAL STAIRCASE

A central spiral staircase connects all interior decks.  Adjacent to this central area is the owner’s office which serves as the entrypoint to the master suite.  Lavishly spacious, this room has the look and feel of a fully-equipped spa.   The massive bathroom features a rainforest shower area with hydro-therapy jets. The stateroom itself is bathed in natural light via a circular central skylight, and a semicircular array of windows that turn this room into a luxurious private observation lounge with panoramic views beyond the yacht’s bow.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Motor yacht SWAN can accommodate up to twelve guests, with additional staterooms found on the upper and lower decks. Located on the lower deck, two doubles and two twins can be found, all adjacent to the central staircase. Each cabin has sumptuous ensuite bathrooms.

UPPER DECK

On the upper deck, a VIP suite doubles as both an extra stateroom as well as a massage and wellness area. A licensed  masseuse is onboard and at the guests’ disposal.

AFT

The aft section of the upper deck features an open-air saloon where a bar, games table, and multiple seating arrangements can be found.  Although this may be true, the large space allows for both intimate dinner parties as well as elegant cocktail parties.

SUN DECK

Last but not least, the sumptuously-sized sun deck.  Primary features include the Jacuzzi area, with tub, big sun pads, and an extended lounging sofa. The central section offers shade from the sun under a hard top and an area to use the onboard gym equipment (including rowing, running and Pilates machines and a trainer bicycle). For guests preferring to get their exercise in the water, there’s a large beach club deck, located at the yacht’s stern.

SUMMARY

Simply put, this is an amazing yacht and her collection of amenities, combined with her sense of style, make her a perfect choice for any charter.

Top 3 Biggest Gadget Failures on 2011 Yachts

Top Gadget Failures of 2011

Regular readers of our blogs kno the team in our yacht charter department loves gadgets – from great Christmas stocking stuffer gadgets to our favorite must-have new gadgets for 2012.

But what about gadgets that simply didn’t cut the mustard in 2011?

In a year when technology heralded the magic of the Cloud and 4G phones were popping up everywhere, the year also bore witness to some failures of epic proportion. Here are our picks for the three biggest technology meltdowns of 2011:

3-D Technology

We’ve said it many times – the tech toys and gadgets found on mega yacht charter vessels are a good barometer as to what is hot and what is not.  Take for example, 3-D technology.  The future might be now, but you’d hardly know it by taking a peek in the average yacht’s salon.  A quick look at some of the newest yachts like the 61 meter Benetti yacht LYANA and the 56 meter Perini Navi sail yacht FIDELIS shows 3-D technology has not been embraced by the yachting community.

You just don’t see any 3-D television sets on the yachts, or in many homes.  Blame high prices or headaches from wearing silly-colored glasses, but at the end of 2011, interest in 3-D TV is the same as it was at the beginning of 2011, and sales are flat.

iPhone 4S

While sales are anything but flat for the iPhone 4s, Apples newest handset is still a major consumer letdown.  Yes, it’s one of  the fastest, best-looking smartphones on the block — but it’s no iPhone 5.  Apple aficionados spent the better part of the year waiting for a reincarnated iPhone with a larger screen, and thinner profile. In the end, they were presented with the iPhone 4S — a nominal upgrade at best over the previous model.

Android Tablets

While the iPhone 4s may have been a letdown, Apple’s iPad tablet juggernaut seems unstoppable, leading us to declare Android tablets as the biggest gadget failure of 2011. A year after the release of the first iPad, not a single technology company has made a dent in Apple’s tablet market. Sales of devices like the Motorola Xoom featuring the Android tablet operating system pale in comparison to the sales of the mighty iPad.  Will the new iPad 2 be the final nail in the coffin of Android tablets in the marketplace?

BOOK A PRIVATE YACHT

Can you think of any other technology blunders for gadgets that failed to catch on in 2011?  If you are a boater, which new gadgets are on your wish list that you would like to see available on charter yachts?  Please contact the 1-800 Yacht Charters booking department at https://www.1800yachtcharters.com/book-now-contact-us/ to tell us which gadgets you would like on yachts.
