“Heading ever further south, with temperatures dropping and the number of icebergs sighted increasing daily, SHERAKHAN arrived in Grytviken yesterday. Having been cleared in by customs, and all on board received the South Georgia stamp in their passports, the guests and crew visited the local museum in Grytviken where they met all the locals – all 20 of them!”
The charter guests and crew were treated in South Georgia to what Williams described as
“…witnessed the awesome sight of a colony of around half a million King Penguins and thousands of fur seals on the beach.”
Next stop on the itinerary arises. The superyacht cruises towards St. Andrew’s Bay. Furthermore, she then makes her way toward the Antarctic Sounds.

Jan Verkerk owns the 253-foot Icon motor yacht LEGEND. She is accepting reservations in Antarctica for the season. Specifically, from January 17 through February 18.
This incredible yacht is from 1973. Icon expedition yacht LEGEND underwent a complete rebuild in 2015. She is the only luxury yacht charter ice-breaker vessel in the world.

“We want to thank you and your amazing Crew for a trip of a lifetime. Our 8 days aboard motor yacht SHERAKHAN will forever be remembered and revered as beyond exceptional.
We decided to charter SHERAKHAN because of the ship’s ability to sleep more than twenty guests and the crew was to be amazing. I would like to confirm that the ship is beyond beautiful and the crew is beyond anything I have ever experienced. Chefs Mark and Michael were incredible, we never wanted to eat a meal off the boat the food was so delicious! Every morning we looked forward to seeing the incredible fruit and vegetable sculptures at the buffet table. We played water sports until we couldn’t stand, had amazing massages, and played in the glass-bottom Jacuzzi. We sang Karaoke until we couldn’t sing and danced the night away under the moon and the stars.
I want to say a very heartfelt thank you to each and every member of the crew – some I only saw once or twice – others all day every day. Thank you all so much for your hard work and all of the love you put into making sure we had a trip of a lifetime.

Motoryacht SHERAKHAN has an amazing sundeck and hot tub. She first caught attention on our blog in November 2011. We then rated the top 5 on-deck tubs on charter vessels.
The 228 foot motor yacht SHERAKHAN is extremely popular with large extended families. Further, she is one of a select few vessels with the capacity to accommodate 20 to 26 guests.
This spacious yacht is in the shipyard. She finishes her winter maintenance work before relocating to the islands. In specific, before the start of the Caribbean yacht charter season. She has many improvements. For instance, all new deck furniture and new carpets throughout. Watertoys are all either being replaced or serviced to as-new condition. The Bimini cover above the on-deck hot tub is adapted to give more shade options. In addition, large modern shade parasols exist on the sun deck.

If you owned the massive motor yacht SHERAKHAN, the answer is — BOTH!
Originally built in 1965, the current owner bought the commercial vessel in 2005 and undertook a massive refit – basically gutting the entire ship from bow to stern and rebuilt her into a yacht charter vessel with accommodations for 26 guests (most yachts are limited to 12 or fewer). The full rebuild featured all new plumbingelectrical systems, air conditioning, and generators.It also included a beautiful new paint job – a deep blue hull, with a white superstructure.
Fast forward to 2017, and the owner decided it was time for another refit. All new decks were installed, along with new soft fabrics throughout the guests areas and cabins, and a complete overhaul of all major equipment in the engine room.
As he did in 2005, the owner completely repainted the superyacht charter vessel – this time a clean, crisp white, with subtle grey accents.
The expedition style yacht is available in the Caribbean and will remain there through April. In the summer, the yacht will relocate to the Mediterranean (e.g. Monaco yacht charter or Grand Prix formula 1 races, etc.) for the summer.
