DISH SOAP BOTTLE — MADE OF WHAT????

Posted on

grey biodegradable dish and hand soap squirt bottle made from ocean plastic

BIODEGRADABILITY

Leave it to the folks at method®.  They make biodegradable cleaning products.  The company uses the power of  business to create positive social and environmental change.

The next item in their arsenal is unique.  method® packages their 2-in-1 dish + hand soap in bottles.  The bottles are made with recovered ocean plastic.

RECALL THE SEABIRDS

Readers of our blog might recall our September 15, 2015 post detailing the alarming rate at which seabirds are eating plastic.  Studies indicate 8 million metric tons of plastic dumped into our oceans each year. This plastic pollutes our environment. Additionally, it hurts our marine life populations.

HOW DOES METHOD® FUNCTION IN THIS?

method® hopes to raise awareness of the importance of reusing plastic.  The packaging is a blend of recovered ocean plastic and post-consumer recycled plastic.  Importantly, all plastic used to make the bottles was collected by method® employees!

COMPANY PRESIDENT COMMENTS

We provide private luxury yacht charter vacations.  Therefore, we know the importance of everyone doing their part – no matter how small that role might be.  In addition, our company President, Jana Sheeder, often reminds the 1-800 Yacht Charters team of the Starfish parable.  In her volunteer work, she often gives copies of the gratitudinous parable to her team.

– The Boy and the Starfish –

A man was walking along a deserted beach at sunset. As he walked he could see a young boy in the distance, as he drew nearer he noticed that the boy kept bending down, picking something up and throwing it into the water.

Time and again he kept hurling things into the ocean.

As the man approached even closer, he was able to see that the boy was picking up starfish that had been washed up on the beach and, one at a time he was throwing them back into the water.

The man asked the boy what he was doing, the boy replied, “I am throwing these washed up starfish back into the ocean, or else they will die through lack of oxygen. “But,” said the man, “You can’t possibly save them all, there are thousands on this beach, and this must be happening on hundreds of beaches along the coast. You can’t possibly make a difference.”

The boy looked down, frowning for a moment; then bent down to pick up another starfish, smiling as he threw it back into the sea. He replied, “I made a huge difference to that one!”

Iconic Superyacht Completes Refit in Time for France Yacht Charter Season

Posted on

YACHT LAUNCH DETAILS

This gorgeous yacht launch was 2000.  Ninety-five meter (311 foot) motor yacht INDIAN EMPRESS then ranked among the 20 largest yachts in the world.  Sixteen years of wear and tear takes a toll on a superyacht.  After a record-setting refit, she returns to full glory.  Specifically in time for the upcoming charter season in the South of France.

AMAZING REFIT

Mark Berryman Design revamp of the interior created contemporary atmosphere.  A Turquoise Yachts refit in a record time of 6 months cost €6.4 million.

Originally built for a member of the royal Qatari family, yacht INDIAN EMPRESS was purchased by her current owner, Vijay Mallya in 2006, and ever since has enjoyed a stellar reputation as one of the largest yachts available for hire. She’s a fixture at celebrity-studded events such as the Monaco Grand Prix.

COMPANY PRESIDENT COMMENTS

Jana Sheeder and her team at 1-800 Yacht Charters offer magnificent superyacht Indian Empress for hire for a maximum 12 guests, at a weekly rate of €750,000 plus running expenses (items such as food, alcohol, fuel, dockage, etc.). Sheeder was impressed by the quick turnaround at Turquoise.

“The owner’s extensive work brief required a very short turnaround time frame, and Mr. Karabeyoglu (the CEO of Turquoise) and his team are known for their speed and flexibility,” says Sheeder. “Being diligent in the design phase prior to the commencement of the refit allowed Turquoise to truly understand the owner’s desires and the instructions of the team at Mark Berryman.  Proper planning in advance helped Turquoise complete this major remodeling in record time.”

UPGRADES

The yacht upgrades are many. For instance, a remodeled bridge deck (where a large lobby was re-designed into a corridor). In addition, a new office with new walls.  Finally, a new fire alarm and sprinkler system.

LIKE NEW

Looking like new, the 16 year old yacht INDIAN EMPRESS is currently the largest private yacht charter vessel in service in the Mediterranean.

UNIQUE

She remains a unique yacht. She exudes timeless design and an intriguing history.

COMPANY PRESIDENT COMMENTS

Having great success with the owner’s first charter yacht, the 40 meter Sunseeker yacht Princess K, the team at 1-800 Yacht Charters could barely contain their excitement, awaiting the launch of  this newest “Princess.”

“Last summer, as the conclusion of a super-successful charter onboard Princess K, Captain Julian Sincock informed us that his boss was quietly building a brand new and larger Sunseeker, and was eager for us to promote her for charter upon her launch,” reports Jana Sheeder, President of 1-800 Yacht Charters“We immediately spread the word to our preferred clients and set up an online brochure.”

ALL ABOUT THE YACHT

This Sunseeker 155 is the largest model built to date by the British shipbuilder.  “Mega yacht PRINCESS AVK is prepared to take her place next to her sister-ship, the Sunseeker yacht BLUSH as the two highest profile tri-deck charter yachts in the 45 to 50 meter size category,” says Sheeder“Their contemporary styling is rivaled by no other builder, with the possible exception of the Dutch-built Heesen yachts.”

More Sunseeker models currently available for charter

BOOKINGS

The yacht is in the water for less than a month.  She secured bookings for 17-24 July (Cannes – Ibiza) and 01-21 August (Ibiza – Cannes).  Yes, you read that correctly – she CAN legally go to Spain for Balearic islands yacht charter.   Fully-licensed for Spanish waters. she is one of the largest yachts legally able to charter in Spain this summer.

SPECIAL EVENTS AHEAD

Captain Sincock, however, is itching to get started sooner, and the yacht and his team are ready and in position in the South of France to accept a Monaco Historic Grand Prix charter or a Cannes Film Festival charter in May.

At 47.24 meters (154 feet 11 inches), the yacht offers accommodations for 12 guests in 6 cabins including an ample full beam master, two VIP double staterooms and three additional cabins that easily convert from twins to doubles offering greater flexibility during charter. The master and VIP cabins boast floor to ceiling windows, giving a new meaning to a “room with a view.”

BALCONIES UNFURL

Her unmatched connection with the sea is evident.  Unfurling balconies on either side of the main deck saloon are majestic.  Additionally, French doors in the skylounge open onto a fold-down terrace.  The soothing beach house vibe undulates.  The lines between indoor and outdoor spaces beautifully blur.

IDEAL CORPORATE EVENT YACHT

The yacht is the ideal platform for a corporate event – like hosting a film festival party or watching the race cars scream by during the Grand Prix. The main aft deck features a relaxed seating area with coffee tables – perfect for relaxing at cocktail hour. A glamorous bar and dining area tuck under the radar arch of the open-air sun deck.  A spa tub forward allows unparalleled views while moored stern-to.
