The 82.50 meter motor yacht O’MEGA, one of the very few private luxury yacht charter vessels in the world with the capacity for over 12 guests, is heading to the Caribbean for the very first time this winter.
Re-launched in 2004 after a complete remodel from a near-bare hull, super yacht O’MEGA underwent a major refit in 2009, and has had continuous upgrades every year since. With an excellent crew-to-guest ratio, there are 30 crewmembers onboard to attend to 28 guests in 14 guest staterooms.
While in the Caribbean from early December, 2016 through April 2017, her weekly charter rate is €525,000 + running expenses. There is a two week minimum fee for charters during Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
The only other +12 passenger superyacht considering relocation to the Caribbean for the winter is the 36 passenger motor yacht CHRISTINA O, as her owner has expressed interest in the emerging Cuba yacht charter marketplace (now that travel restrictions between the governments of the United States and Cuba have been eased).
With so few large-capacity yachts in the Caribbean this winter, we expect strong demand for both of these vessels in the area of St. Martin, particularly for St Barts yacht charter clients who invade the small island to celebrate the New Year.
1-800 Yacht Charters has dozens of luxury yachts available in the Caribbean this winter. Let us Deliver the Superyacht Experience to you and your family and friends this winter. Call it, “Life imitating art.” When under siege by a great white shark in the 1975 film, JAWS, actor Roy Scheider’s character exclaimed, ‘We’re gonna need a bigger boat.’
It seems the film’s director Steven Spielberg has taken that sentiment to heart, as his 282 foot superyacht is up for sale, and it is scheduled to be replaced with an even larger vessel.
The Spielberg yacht SEVEN SEAS, built in 2010 by Dutch yard Oceanco, has lived up to its name. In 2013, the famous director, his wife Kate Capshaw, and their seven children took the yacht on a 30,000-mile round-the-world cruise.
Over the years, many famous Hollywood celebrities have been guests onboard the yacht, including Gwyneth Paltrow, and Leonardo DiCaprio. According to the UK’s Daily News, a friend of the director said, “Steven didn’t realize how much he’d enjoy cruising the ocean. Now he’d like to spend more time exploring the seas, and bring a few friends along for the ride. So he’s upgrading to a bigger yacht.”
When not in use by Spielberg and his family, the Monaco yacht charter vessel is available for hire. This season’s charter rate in the Mediterranean is $1.2 million per week. “She has always been a favorite charter yacht,” says Jana Sheeder, President and yacht charter Maven of 1-800 Yacht Charters.
If you’re considering renting the yacht this summer, you might have to wait until September, as the legendary director and his family have spent a considerable portion of their summer vacation onboard, and were recently spotted taking in the sites of Portofino, Italy. Even the family dog is along for the ride.

Looking forward to a strong Mediterranean yacht charter season, the 30 meter sail yacht NOSTROMO cruises into 2012 with highly-competitive, reduced rental rates.
Beginning with the upcoming summer high season (July and August), rates have been slashed by 23% – from €45,000 per week to an attractive €35,000 per week. Rates are plus expenses.
Launched in 2009, the sleek, modern sloop was designed by Dubois Yachts and built by British superyacht builder Pendennis. Since her arrival on the charter scene, Dubois sail yacht NOSTROMO quickly became a popular sailing yacht in France and Italy before crossing the Atlantic for service as a Caribbean yacht charter vessel.
Pendennis yacht NOSTROMO boasts a beautiful interior, designed by Redman Whitely Dixon. There are four cabins that can be converted to offer 3 modern double cabins and 1 single cabin with a bath.
Available in the Eastern Mediterranean, her experienced crew is keen to charter. With attractive new rates, expect prime summer dates to be booked quickly.
Similar yachts available this summer in the Eastern Mediterranean include the 43 meter sail yacht CLEAR EYES, 38 meter gulet yacht ESMA SULTAN, 34 meter sail yacht ANNAGINE, and the 32 meter crewed catamaran charters superstar sail yacht IPHARRA.

In February we added the brand new 33 meter catamaran yacht QUARANTA to our website, in anticipation of her launch and christening.
We are proud to report motor yacht QUARANTA, the largest carbon hybrid composite power catamaran in the world, was successfully launched in February.
At 3.30am, the Turkish-built superyacht was pulled from her Tuzla shipyard shed on to the public road by a huge trailer. From there, she was towed 3 kilometers to the RMK shipyard for launching.
The following day, on Sunday morning at 10:45am, the yacht was officially christened and launched.
The vessel features a flexible layout. Six double cabins offer room for 12 guests, and be converted into three VIP suites, six twins, doubles, or any combination thereof. All guest cabins are located on the main deck and fitted with large windows.
Interior and exterior styling was provided by UK’s Lila Lou Studios, with Incat Crowther serving as the naval architects.
With four decks and a nine (9) meter beam, the catamaran provides nearly 50 per cent more space than a comparable 30 meter monohull.

She’s not scheduled to splash down until 2018, but that’s not keeping eager Greek yacht charter clients from placing deposits for vacations next summer on this new 40 meter yacht.
The Sunseeker 131 motor yacht AQUA LIBRA 131 is still in her build shed in Dorset, but the buzz surrounding the opportunity to secure a brand new yacht to explore the Greek islands has prospective customers stepping forward to secure prime dates.
“Two reservations have already been secured for summer 2018,” says a smiling Jana Sheeder, President of 1-800 Yacht Charters. “One client has secured 4 nights in late June and another grabbed the first 14 days of July. It’s always so great to see dates locked down a full year in advance.”
While it is true that affluent travelers are not inclined to secure private luxury yacht charter vacations so far in advance, they will pony up early when they see a unique opportunity. Motor yacht AQUA LIBRA 131 presents such a scenario.
For years, Greece has remained one of the most popular summer cruising destinations – dozens of islands can be visited, and the number of historical points of interest dated to the beginning of civilization are in the hundreds. Oh yeah – the warm weather in the summer is spectacular!
But for all the destination’s allure, the yachts that offered charters in Greece were often considered inferior in overall comfort and quality to those yachts HNWI’s could charter in France and Monaco, along the Côte d’Azur.
Greek yacht operators, in a testament to their seafaring heritage, often offered wooden ships, called motorsailers (or “gulets” as they are known in neighboring Turkey) to the charter market. As charming as these traditional vessels are, they simply lack the sophistication of ultra-modern superyachts. Whereas you are hard-pressed to find a motorsailer with an open-air Jacuzzi-style tub on the deck, it is nearly impossible to find a superyacht that doesn’t have at least one hot tub on deck – as well as other luxury amenities like onboard cinemas, spas, beauty salons, and helipads.
Yacht owners in Greece, and indeed the Greek people themselves, are a wonderful and proud lot – and they should be! They live in the cradle of civilization, and so much of our modern technical gains in math and the sciences can be traced back to the Hellenic culture. It is understandable to see why they have held to their traditional ways – and their traditional yachts.
Still, HNWI’s want what they want – and for the well-heeled, a superyacht filled with modern amenities is the preferred mode of transport during an ultraluxury holiday.
That leads us to Sunseeker motoryacht AQUA LIBRA 131, now accepting charter reservations a full year before her build is completed. The British-built tri-deck Sunseeker 131 epitomizes everything that HNWI’s seek in their superyacht experience: accommodations in sublime surroundings, immense scale, and a layout that lends to relaxing and socializing with friends and special guests.
Here’s how Sunseeker describes their own 131 model:
“Expertly finished using ultra-modern materials and techniques, the 131 Yacht is one of the finest examples of modern day superyacht building. The main deck features a lounge, separate dining area and full galley, while on the upper deck you’ll find the sky lounge, cocktail bar and access to the skydeck; where comfort and lavishness reach new levels. As impressive out in open water as it is in the harbour, this icon of design is unlike any other.”
Guest accommodations are available for up to 10 passengers in 5 staterooms:
As you would expect, all staterooms offer ensuite facilities.
For indoor entertainment , the yacht offers a Sonos AV System, with video on demand, as well as Apple TVs, and full satellite services. Of course, the yacht offers Wi-Fi on all decks.
Don’t plan on staying indoors too long, because Greece is all about the scenery and the warm Aegean sea. To enjoy the ocean, this new yacht will have a complete inventory of watersports equipment, including:
There are many other Sunseeker models currently in charter in the Mediterranean. While builders with classical style yachts such as Lurssen and Benetti tend to attract older charterers, Sunseeker yacht charters appeal to young entrepreneurs and their families. There’s a modern, contemporary “Vibe” onboard a Sunseeker. No shot at Lurssen and the classic models – Sunseeker simply offers a different feel, and for a different charter client.
Other Sunseeker vessels currently available include:
Sunseeker 116 motor yacht FLEUR
Sunseeker 130 yacht THUMPER
Sunseeker 155 superyacht PRINCESS AVK
As the new AQUA LIBRA 131 Sunseeker continues to attract attention – and bookings, it is likely that more and more owners of new-build yachts will forgo the traditional Western Med ports of France and Monaco, and position for the summer in the Eastern Med in Greece – Opa!!!
Even the little Kallikantzari hobgoblins will crawl out from the underground when this beautiful, new yacht is delivered to Greece next summer — like a Christmas gift during the summertime!

The buzz continues to build around the nominees for the 2011 World Superyacht Awards. It is an annual ceremony that fêtes many of the Newest and Largest Yachts. It is hosted by the editors of Boat International Media. The awards finally honor the finest new vessels delivered to their owners in the past twelve months.
Above all, it is considered the “Oscars” of the megayacht industry. The ceremony scheduled for May 7, 2011 will be attended by an elite guest list of owners from around the globe and the most influential players in the business of boats.
It sometimes seems sail boat charters take a back seat to their motor yacht rivals. Consequently, a privileged few will be fortunate enough to experience sail yacht PANTHALASSA under sail.
The 56 meter megayacht is nominated for Best Sailing Yacht in 45 meter and up category.
The vessel presents a fusion of contemporary living and the finest nautical heritage. Her interior is luxurious and features a rich contemporary decor. She is delightful to the eye and soothing to the soul. Sail mega yacht PANTHALASSA reflects an outstanding creative synthesis between Perini Navi and Foster & Partners.
Natural daylight suffuses the interior of the superyacht. She has unique skylights that channel light from the sundeck and oversized portholes. The clean lines and uncluttered style of her interior offer contemporary living. Central to the luxury yacht charter vessel is a flowing stairwell. It is wrapped in a translucent acrylic enclosure that alloows light into the main saloon.
A tactile and warm ambiance is created through the use of warm, natural organic tones and the combination of teak flooring with saddle leather wall paneling and granite surfaces. Flexible multifunctional spaces offer a host of well conceived opportunities for social interaction or intimate gatherings. the dining table can become a coffee table. Nearby, the library is positioned with views over open water for a feeling of deep relaxation and enhancing contemplation. The boardroom with its video conferencing facilities is also a perfect dining area and the sweeping sofa in the saloon becomes a bar.
The ability to conduct business while onboard makes this superyacht the perfect special event charter vessel, and an ideal candidate for MIPIM, the Cannes Film Festival, and finally, the Monaco Grand Prix. Electric glazed screens allow the entire main saloon , dining area, and wheelhouse to be divided or unified into a one large living space.
As the sun sets, who wouldn’t enjoy cocktails and al fresco dining on the aft deck of the Skylounge??
For in-water fun in the sun, yacht MI SUENO is also jam-packed with an extensive inventory of watertoys.
MI SUENO’s charter rates begin at €280,000 EUROS per week. We would love to charter her to you for the vacation of a lifetime! Give us a call or email!
