When it comes to owners choosing unique names for their yachts, there’s no lack of inspiration. From the obvious ( LADY SARA, LISA IV, et al) to the sublime (e.g. CLOUDBREAK, PARADISE, et al), the only limit to a creative name for a yacht is the owner’s imagination.
While we’ve seen yachts named after famous movies, animals, and people, we have to admit – a yacht named after a candy bar is unique and rare!
So, our team had to chuckle when a beautiful new yacht recently entered the luxury yacht charter marketplace, sporting a name inspired by a popular candy bar found in your neighborhood grocery store.
The Sunseeker 131 motor yacht TAKE 5 shares a name with the well-known Hershey Company candy bar.
The candy bar (per Hershey) is, “…five layers of sweet and salty goodness that doesn’t ask you to compromise. It’s crunchy pretzels, smooth peanut butter, salty peanuts and sweet caramel—all wrapped in silky milk chocolate.”
The eponymous yacht (per Sunseeker) is, “A sublime example of design and engineering, every detail, feature and interior space is nothing short of extraordinary.”
Seems both manufacturer are equally proud of their creations!
Since her launch in 2016, yacht TAKE 5 Sunseeker 131 was strictly used for the personal enjoyment of the owner and his family and friends. Now that the yacht is available for luxury yacht charter, it will be based in the Caribbean during the winter/spring, and in the Western Mediterranean in the summer.
FIVE FLAVORS…FIVE FEATURES
With the candy bar featuring five layers of flavor, it’s only fitting to present five unique charter features about the yacht:
Five stylish and seductive staterooms accommodating up to 12 guests
Fantastic Sundeck with large forward Jacuzzi
Chic beach club at water level
Toy free decks (more space for entertaining and socializing)
Zero speed stabilization system (for maximum comfort while cruising and at anchor)
By the way, in case you thought it was just a coincidence that the yacht and candy bar share a name – individual snack sized Take 5 candy bars fill crystal candy bowls throughout the superyacht!

Lovers of classic sailboats take delight. The spectacular sail yacht GERMANIA NOVA announces something. In specific, she plans to reposition in time for the Caribbean yacht charter winter season.
LUXURY SAIL YACHT
We first profiled yacht GERMANIA NOVA in June 2011. A replica of the Max Oertz-designed and Germaniawerft-built racing schooner Germania. A 1908 build, now 60 meter GERMANIA NOVA provides guests the same opportunity. Specifically, to experience the joys of sailing in a bygone era. She is currently available for year end rental. Her rates are
€80,000 per week for Christmas/New Year period and €70,000 per week off season
Presenting the brand new classic schooner sail yacht GERMANIA NOVA. As they say, “everything old is new again.” The 47 meter Italian-built yacht is the latest sail-powered superyacht.
WHO IS GERMANIA?
The Germania NOVA (“new”) design makes this new yacht unusual and spectacular. She is a replica of a classic 1908 yacht named Germania. The original vessel had a storied history before sinking off the coast of Florida in a hurricane.
Her builder was Krupp-Germania-Wurft in Kiel, Germany. The company constructs submarines. More importantly, known as U-boats.
The original Germania sailed a 47 mile course around Britain’s Isle of Wight in record time in 1908.
In 1914, the yacht visited Southhampton, England where she was seized as a prize of war. She then changed hands several times.
MORE GERMANIA DETAILS
Germania had two names. First, Exen. Second, Half Moon. Finally,The yacht as a floating restaurant and dance hall in Miami, Florida. She sank near Key Biscayne. In specific, a small island near Miami in 1930.
The schooner is the seventh Florida Underwater Archaeological Preserve. Dedication made in 2000. Germania is now part of the US National Register of Historic Places.
COMPANY PRESIDENT COMMENTS
Jana Sheeder, President of 1-800 Yacht Charters, proudly shares that her companies (1-800 Yacht Charters and Bareboat.com) donate floating mooring buoys for over the Germania (Half Moon) site.
“The unfortunately wreck created a reef, and yachtsmen and women regularly visit to snorkel and enjoy the underwater magic that the yacht created. We are so happy to provide a way for yachts to tie to protect the fragile reef below.”
GERMANIA NOVA (REPLICA) DETAIL
Technological advances and comforts aboard the replica are awe-inspiring. For instance, the sailing yacht features satellite television. She has flat screen panel tvs in the main saloon, master stateroom, and all guest cabins. Cinema-quality 5.1 Dolby surround sound DVD service is available in the main saloon and master stateroom. Guest cabins have radios with CD and MP3 players. iPod connections are present throughout the yacht. She is a charter build with many features all amenities.
GERMANIA NOVA RATES
The classic GERMANIA NOVA is available in the western Mediterranean. With a crew of 13, her rate is €80,000 per week, plus expenses in July and August. Her rate drops to €70,000 per week, plus expenses, for low season dates. At the end of the season, the yacht will relocate to the Caribbean for the winter.
The recent Paris boat show gave bareboat yacht charter lovers pause. Presenting the new Lagoon catamaran 39. It is an even more important milestone. In specific, the 30th birthday of Lagoon Catamarans.
The builder celebrated their shipbuilding birthday at the French show. Show dates spanned December 7 to 15.
When Did Lagoon Cats First Appear?
The first Lagoon #catamaran model was delivered in 1987. As a result, more than 3,000 Lagoon catamarans exist around the world.

DESIGN INNOVATIONS
For three decades, the company has been a leader in design innovation. For example,
1997
Lagoon invents vertical windows for the Lagoon 410 catamaran, adding welcoming light and a feeling of more volume.
2004
No one had ever seen or heard of a flybridge on a sailing catamaran. That is, until Lagoon installed one. Now, a decade later, all Lagoons 45’ and larger are equipped with a flybridge.
2006
The first hybrid-powered cruising catamaran is introduced. Specifically, the Lagoon 420.
2009
Welcome the Lagoon 620. It is the benchmark for crewed catamaran charters. Ask any charter broker their preferred vessels for a Virgin Islands yacht charter vacation. They probably point to Lagoon 620 sail catamaran AVALON. Also, luxury sailing catamaran CROCODILE DADDY.
2013
The new Lagoon 39 and 52 models, featuring innovation by VPLP naval architects, have the masts pushed back aft for comfort, performance, and easy handling.
HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS
Happy 30th birthday, Lagoon! Thank you for all that you’ve done for the catamaran charter industry — here’s to another 30 years.

THE YACHT CHARTER DEAL
The charter manager for motor yacht SEVEN SINS just sent us an email inviting our clients to take advantage of a fantastic offer — a 40% price reduction on charters between January 5 and 28, 2017.
The published weekly rate for the 43.80m (143′ 8″) yacht is $125,000. Shaving 40% from this price drops her weekly rate to $75,000 – a whopping savings of $50 LARGE!
THE HEESEN DIFFERENCE
Known for their unique speed among large superyachts, and their sleek exterior lines and modern interiors, Heesen yacht charter vessels like motor yacht OCTOPUSSY (once the world’s fastest yacht), and Formula 1-inspired superyacht AURELIA are among the most popular charter yachts for clients who appreciate the advantage of a swift vessel. The advantage of a fast yacht means that charterers can enjoy more anchorages in a shorter amount of time, as compared to slower yachts. Thus, a vessel like yacht SEVEN SINS can easily incorporate a charter from St. Martin and St Barts in the leeward islands of the Caribbean, with an outing to the Virgin Islands far to the north – all within a week’s time.

YACHT CHARTER TESTIMONIAL
Before arriving in the Caribbean in December, the yacht spent the summer in French Polynesia. Here’s a copy of a testimonial written by a client to the owner of yacht SEVEN SINS at the conclusion of his Heesen yacht charter superyacht experience in the Pacific:
“Dear (Owner’s name),
You don’t know me but, although we have never met, I think I know more than a little about you.
I just finished a charter of the M/Y Seven Sins in French Polynesia. And based on everything I saw and experienced on your boat and with your crew tells me that you not only have fine taste, but you have the same eye for quality and pay the same attention to detail that I try to do in my own projects.
I develop, own and operate retail and mixed use real estate projects in the Dallas, Texas area. And though it drives many around me crazy, I cant (sic) rest unless every element of my project is perfect…from the design, to the construction, to the finishes and materials, to the retail and restaurant tenants [and their own design and finishes!], and beyond.
TESTIMONIAL CONTINUES
On the Seven Sins, I saw that same unwillingness to accept ‘good enough’ or live with things that work ‘pretty well.’ I’ll be honest…I looked hard to find flaws, problems or issues….not so that I could complain, but rather because I just can’t help myself! It’s who I am and it’s what I do! And I can tell from what I saw…it is who you are too!
I am pleased to report to you that every aspect of your vessel and your crew were, in a word, impeccable. Beyond all of my very high expectations in every way.
This email is simply to say ‘thank you’ for sharing your vessel and its able and charming crew with us. (and) I hope I’ll get the chance to spend some more time on her perhaps again in the South Pacific or perhaps in the Caribbean.
Thanks again,
(Client’s name)”
WOW! What a fantastic testimonial from a client with discriminating tastes.

HOLLYWOOD SOUTH
So just where is St Barts, the island paradise dubbed, “Hollywood South?”
WHERE IS ST. BARTS?
The island of St. Barts is popular. Specifically, where is it located? St. Barts is a tiny island situated in the French West Indies. ALL ABOUT SAINT BARTS
St. Barts lies 35 km southeast of Saint Martin, separated by the Saint-Barthélemy Channel. It lies northeast of Saba and St Eustatius, and north of St Kitts. Some small satellite islets belong to St. Barts including Île Chevreau, Île Frégate, Île Toc Vers, and Île Tortue. A much bigger islet, Île Fourchue, lies to the north of the island, in the Saint-Barthélemy Channel. Other nearby islets include Coco, the Roques (or little Turtle rocks), and Sugarloaf.
Seven thousand kilometers separate St Barts from Paris, but it is just 2500 from New York (about a 4 hour flight).
Caribbean yacht charter vacations are popular to American tourists. However, the Italian coastline draws far more visitors annually. This is for both land and sea holidays.
The most famous stretch of coastline in Italy is the Amalfi Coast. It stretches south from the peninsula of Sorrento. Here you will find multiple features. For instance, quaint fishing villages along a ragged-mountain cliffline, bordered by the clear, azure sea.
Amalfi Coast yacht charters take place along the northern end of the Bay of Naples. They often encompass the volcanic island of Ischia. Even more often, they include nearby Capri.
A popular destination while enjoying an Italy yacht charter is the town of Positano. Many flock here. For example, artists, rock stars, actors, and novelists have visited for decades. Here, you can climb the fabled narrow streets to visit one of the local designer showrooms and elegant boutiques, where clothes and sandals are made to order.
The city of Positano, Italy is located in the province of Salerno, and the region of Campania. The location coordinates on a map are: 40° 38?N 14°29?E Positano is 17km (10 miles) west of Amalfi; 51km (101 miles) west of Salerno; and 56km (35 miles) southeast of Naples.
The closest airport, suitable for private jets and regional commercial carriers is the Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport (IATA: QSR, ICAO: LIRI), located in the municipality of Pontecagnano Faiano.
Many spectacular yachts will be cruising the Amalfi Coast. One impressive and elegant example is motoryacht CHECKMATE, a Benetti luxury yacht in the charter market.
HOW TO RENT A YACHT IN ITALY
