What could be better than experiencing a Heesen yacht charter vacation in the warm waters of the Caribbean? That’s easy: experiencing a Heesen yacht charter vacation AND saving $50,000 to boot!
THE YACHT CHARTER DEAL
The charter manager for motor yacht SEVEN SINS just sent us an email inviting our clients to take advantage of a fantastic offer — a 40% price reduction on charters between January 5 and 28, 2017.
The published weekly rate for the 43.80m (143′ 8″) yacht is $125,000. Shaving 40% from this price drops her weekly rate to $75,000 – a whopping savings of $50 LARGE!
THE HEESEN DIFFERENCE
Known for their unique speed among large superyachts, and their sleek exterior lines and modern interiors, Heesen yacht charter vessels like motor yacht OCTOPUSSY (once the world’s fastest yacht), and Formula 1-inspired superyacht AURELIA are among the most popular charter yachts for clients who appreciate the advantage of a swift vessel. The advantage of a fast yacht means that charterers can enjoy more anchorages in a shorter amount of time, as compared to slower yachts. Thus, a vessel like yacht SEVEN SINS can easily incorporate a charter from St. Martin and St Barts in the leeward islands of the Caribbean, with an outing to the Virgin Islands far to the north – all within a week’s time.
KEY YACHT FEATURES
SEVEN SINS offers accommodations for 10 guests in 5 staterooms. Her manager put together a list of the yacht’s KEY FEATURES:
Extended by 2.5m – more deck space – refurbished owner’s cabin
Finalist at World Superyacht Awards in Refit category
Huge selection of water toys; including floating trampoline and two SeaBobs
Upper deck dining for 12, and a table for 10 on the sun deck
VESSEL BOOKINGS
This stunning Heesen yacht charter vessel just completed a holiday charter in St Maarten on January 2nd. Her calendar for the remainder of January is currently wide open.

YACHT CHARTER TESTIMONIAL
Before arriving in the Caribbean in December, the yacht spent the summer in French Polynesia. Here’s a copy of a testimonial written by a client to the owner of yacht SEVEN SINS at the conclusion of his Heesen yacht charter superyacht experience in the Pacific:
“Dear (Owner’s name),
You don’t know me but, although we have never met, I think I know more than a little about you.
I just finished a charter of the M/Y Seven Sins in French Polynesia. And based on everything I saw and experienced on your boat and with your crew tells me that you not only have fine taste, but you have the same eye for quality and pay the same attention to detail that I try to do in my own projects.
I develop, own and operate retail and mixed use real estate projects in the Dallas, Texas area. And though it drives many around me crazy, I cant (sic) rest unless every element of my project is perfect…from the design, to the construction, to the finishes and materials, to the retail and restaurant tenants [and their own design and finishes!], and beyond.
TESTIMONIAL CONTINUES
On the Seven Sins, I saw that same unwillingness to accept ‘good enough’ or live with things that work ‘pretty well.’ I’ll be honest…I looked hard to find flaws, problems or issues….not so that I could complain, but rather because I just can’t help myself! It’s who I am and it’s what I do! And I can tell from what I saw…it is who you are too!
I am pleased to report to you that every aspect of your vessel and your crew were, in a word, impeccable. Beyond all of my very high expectations in every way.
This email is simply to say ‘thank you’ for sharing your vessel and its able and charming crew with us. (and) I hope I’ll get the chance to spend some more time on her perhaps again in the South Pacific or perhaps in the Caribbean.
Thanks again,
(Client’s name)”
WOW! What a fantastic testimonial from a client with discriminating tastes.

Recently, a customer asked, “Where is St Thomas?” We answered the question in our blog, entitled, “Destination Caribbean: Where is St. Thomas?.”Here, we identify the location of another popular destination. We introduce one of the most family-friendly islands in the Bahamas, GRAND BAHAMA ISLAND.
WHERE IS IT LOCATED?
Grand Bahama Island is located in the Caribbean, in the Atlantic Ocean. It is about 190 miles west of Nassau and 55 miles from South Florida. It is also due east of Fort Lauderdale and northeast of Cuba. Atlas and map users users will find the island at coordinates 26°39?N 78°19?W.
EST AND DST
Grand Bahama is the fifth largest island in the Bahamas island chain. The chain has approximately 700 islands and more than 2,000 cays. It is in the Eastern Standard Time zone (EST). Daylight Savings Time (DST) is observed in the summer months from March to November. This is when the time is pushed forward by 1 hour to Eastern Daylight-savings Time (EDT). It shifts back by 1 hour after the summer, and returns to EST.
WHICH AIRPORT TO FLY INTO?
By air, the island’s international airport, Grand Bahama International Airport (GBIA), is 35 minutes from Miami. It is 3 hours from New York. It is also 7 hours from Los Angeles. Finally, it is 9 hours across the pond, from London.
LURE OF THE ISLAND
The charms of the island attract visitors from around the world. Many of these visitors arrive on the largest yacht chartervessels. Deep surrounding waters and bordering shallow reefs teeming with tropical fish are an irresistible magnet. It keeps boaters coming back year after year. The islands premier marina is the full-service 115-slipPort Lucaya Marina.
WHAT DOES IT HAVE TO OFFER?
Grand Bahama features lots of excitement. For instance, miles of beautiful beaches, nature preserves, resort hotels, a major casino, nighttime entertainment, an animal shelter full of the Bahamas’ own breed of dog available for adoption (the potcake). It also features warm, tropical, emerald-green seas, and tons of watersports activities.
CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS
A NEAT FACT: WhenChristopher Columbusvisited the island in 1492, he called it Gran Bajamar –‘Great Shallows,‘ from which the name Grand Bahama was derived; however, the name of the island’s capital city, Freeport / Lucaya, is probably better known to the world today than the name of the island, itself.

You are the chef onboard a St. Barts yacht charter vessel, and your guests have asked you to create a lavish meal at sea with hard-to-find ingredients. Where do you turn?
The answer is a specialty food supplier such as The Grateful Palate.
SOUTH FLORIDA CATERER
Since 2009, the South Florida-based caterer has offered provisions to discerning customers in the nautical industry. From their 10,000 square foot distribution center in the Fort Lauderdale area, the provisioning company has always sourced and shipped food items, toiletries, and other premium goods to chefs and crew on mostly Caribbean and Bahamas yacht charter vessels. They have also serviced private yachts as well.
CUSTOM ORDERS ARE IMPORTANT
The company has always specialized in working with clients seeking custom orders of the highest-quality products. Expectations have always been high, as charter chefs need items delivered fresh and on time to specific destinations.
CATERER IS NO MORE
But, sadly, The Grateful Palate is no more…..until the Fall of 2014, when they reopen in a larger facility so that they can continue servicing their discriminating clientele!
According to owner Meghan Leckey, being able to meet customers’ demands and deliver the goods resulted in a strong repeat clientele and the company’s continued growth. She said, that it was “…a growing business that [has] picked up substantially over the years.”
PASSOVER CELEBRATION
For Passover this year, Leckey’s company supplied a 200-foot Virgin Islands yacht charter vessel in St. Thomas with kosher meats, sodas, dry goods, and ceremonial supplies for the religious holiday. It also sent specialty kosher caviar flown in from Paris.
Leckey feels she understands the needs of the owners and crews of the world’s largest yachts.
“The secrets of our success are, first of all, really understanding the amazing level of quality demanded by the wealthiest yacht owners in the world and, secondly, anticipating everything the crew will need for the trip,” said Leckey. “There is no other industry in the world that demands this level of attention to quality, from Beluga caviar to toilet paper (as the luxury yacht charter industry), and few other companies in the world that can meet those expectations.”
RELIANCE ON CUSTOMER REFERRALS
The company, as does 1-800 Yacht Charters, relies on customer referrals to spread the word. “We thrive on good remarks, and repeat business is key in this specialized industry,” Leckey said.

CATAMARAN SILVER MOON
Many guests eat a meal or two ashore during a week-long yachting vacation. Therefore, sail catamaran SILVER MOON announced a half board food option.
MEALS ON CATAMARAN
A typical all-inclusive charter features 3 meals a day. The half board option exists. It includes all breakfasts. It also includes 3 lunches and 4 dinners with beverages, the standard ship’s bar, and snacks. That said, all other meals are taken ashore at the guest’s expense.
JANA SHEEDER, COMPANY PRESIDENT, COMMENTS
Jana Sheeder, President of SailAway and 1-800 Yacht Charters, comments. She explains the benefits of a half board option:
“Part of the attraction of a yachting vacation is the chance to indulge in local customs and foods. Sometimes, fresh food on the yachts goes to waste as the clients tend to eat ashore two or three times a week in the various ports of call. The half board option cuts down on waste, preparation materials, and cleanup,” explains Sheeder.
RATES
Clients save money. The overall cost of the boating vacation can be reduced. It can then reflect the fewer meals and food served onboard.
The sailing yacht SILVER MOON is a 44′ catamaran that launched in 2002. She has 3 guest cabins. Each includes a queen berth and private bathroom. The yacht has wind scoops to limit the need for air conditioning. The crew buys earth-friendly paper products, biodegradable cleaning products, and local organic produce when available. #eco-friendly
