Real Madrid Resort Island
The idea of a Persian Gulf yacht charter grew a lot more intriguing today. One of the world’s richest sports teams announced plans! The club intends to build on its enormous following.
Real Madrid soccer club President Florentino Perez unveiled Real Madrid Resort Island. It is a holiday resort on an artificial island in the United Arab Emirates. The resort is therefore scheduled to open in January 2015.
The resort will feature multiple sports facilities, a superyacht marina, luxury hotels, a soccer-themed amusement park, club museum, and a 10,000-seat stadium with one side open to the Persian Gulf.
“It is a decisive and strategic step that will strengthen our institution in the Middle East and Asia,” said Perez.

Lurssen yacht charter boat ICE
According to local reports in Mexico, the crew of the 90 meter Lürssen motor yacht, ICE, assisted in a rescue operation off the coast of Cozumel in mid-February.Apparently a local dive boat was enroute with divers on board to a dive site in Playa Del Carmen known for attracting bull sharks. After taking on water in rough seas, the vessel sank, leaving all hands in the water, adrift for approximately 4 hours.

Yesterday, a follower of our blog sent in an email asking, “When is high season in the Caribbean?”
The Caribbean offers wonderful and highly diverse cruising. The capital of the United States Virgin Islands (USVI) is St. Thomas. It is to the north. To the south of there are the Windward and Leeward Islands. They are clusters of islands and cays that form the region known as the Antilles. They offer many diverse destinations – from beaches to lagoons, to rain forests.
Most captains and they will tell you the “best” time to enjoy sailing in the Caribbean is from December to April. This period is known as “High” season. The weather is drier and the tradewinds are steadier. Weather conditions for crewed catamaran charters (the most popular yachts) are more stable. Nights tend to be cooler as well.
May through November is considered the “Low” season in the Caribbean. It is most often associated with hurricane season. Hurricane season is theoretically from June to November. However, most intense tropical storms occur in September and October. This is when the ocean water is at its warmest temperatures of the year.
May is technically low season, but avid adventurers often plan Virgin Islands yacht charters in this month. The weather is still cooler than the later summer months in May. The water temperature is ideal for snorkeling. Throngs of tourists that flock to the Caribbean for Easter and spring break are long gone.
May offers lower prices often associated with low season. It is also a comfortable climate. May offers great climate, prices, and fewer visitors.

Circraft Watertoy
The saying goes, “up the creek without a paddle.” But what about without a rudder?
A British company is hoping their invention will catch on with boaters. Additionally, the yachting community surely likes the idea. What is it? A rudderless saucer-like watertoy called a “Circraft.”
It is round, revolutionary, and radical. The aquatic flying saucer is first, part James Bond boat and second, part personal watercraft. It is similar to a waverunner or jetski.
Aside from its appearance, what makes this new watertoy truly unique is the lack of a rudder for steering. Directional control comes from the operator leaning to one side or the other – lean left go left, lean right and the Circraft will do the same.
Want to stop? Simply flip the throttle to neutral and the saucer will glide to a halt (and like a waverunner or jetski, a safety cut-out cord connects the outboard to driver for safety in the event of any mishap).
Powered by a small outboard engine, the Circraft can hit maximum speeds of 40 mph and can carry one to two riders.
