When it comes to naming a superyacht, the sources of inspiration seem limitless.
Many owners select the name of their spouse or their children. Others opt for themes, such as romance and affection. Of course, movie-themed names remain popular as well (e.g. John and Jeanette Staluppi and their James Bond yacht selection including DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER, CASINO ROYALE, and Benetti yacht SPECTRE, Project FB269.
The multi-yacht owner of 83-meter Amels motor yacht HERE COMES THE SUN, has an inspiration. In specific, it is music. It is somewhat obvious to most Baby Boomers. Obviously, songs by The Beatles.
The owner had two other yachts. First, the 47-meter Heesen yacht LET IT BE. Second, the 65-meter Amels Limited Editions 212 yacht IMAGINE (now INFINITE SHADES).
In a way, the name seems entirely appropriate. This yacht is a behemoth. Additionally, she seems to be the size of the sun. In specific, in silhouette against the evening skyline. She is the new flagship of the fabled Dutch yard. In addition, the first Amels Limited Editions 272. The yacht comes in at 2827 gross tons, more than the 95-meter Lurssen yacht KISMET (2700GT).

Some of the newest and largest yachts for hire win awards. They starred at the sixth annual World Superyacht Awards. This was in London, May 7, 2011.
Sixteen new yachts were honored. Nine are available for hire. These are in popular vacation destinations around the world. The 50 meter EXUMA was co-winner of the prestigious,”Motor Yacht of the Year,” with yacht, Eclipse.
The Neptune awards are considered the “Oscars of the yacht industry.” A beautiful evening ceremony took place at London’s historic Guildhall. The distinguished guests attend the glittering gala . For instance, over 500 yacht owners and naval architects. Also included were designers, their families, and friends. With this in mind, it was an amazing event.
Silver Neptune trophies went to owners of sail and motor yachts delivered in 2010. For instance, Kokomo (sailboat) and Sycara V (motoryacht).
Jana Sheeder, President of SailAway and 1-800 Yacht Charters beamed as the final award was announced.
“We are so proud to represent for charter nine of the winning yachts,” said Sheeder. “This is a great testament to the talents and keen eye of our charter department. Our team spends countless hours identifying potential yachts for hire. We look at nearly one hundred vessels each year, hoping to discover 10 to 20 new yachts that exemplify elegant design and luxurious amenities. It is these yachts – the best of the best – that we present to our clients for their yachting vacations.”

Beach Club
As a kid, I used to love going to the beach on Key Biscayne in Miami. The concession stand had the best snow-cones in town, and the long, paved path along the edge of the beach was the perfect place to ride my bicycle.
