Posted onIn February we added the brand new 33 meter catamaran yacht QUARANTA to our website. Her addition was in anticipation of her launch and christening.
We are proud to report motor yacht QUARANTA, the largest carbon hybrid composite power catamaran in the world, was successfully launched in February.
At 3.30am, the Turkish-built superyacht pulls away from her Tuzla shipyard shed. Further, moves on to the public road by a huge trailer. From there, she tows 3 kilometers to the RMK shipyard for launch.
The following day, on Sunday morning at 10:45am, the yacht was officially christened and launched.
The vessel features a flexible layout. Six double cabins offer room for 12 guests. In addition, they are convertible to three VIP suites. Also, to six twins, doubles, or any combination thereof. All guest cabins are located on the main deck and fitted with large windows.
Interior and exterior styling was provided by UK’s Lila Lou Studios, with Incat Crowther serving as the naval architects.
She has four decks and a 9 meter beam. The catamaran provides nearly 50 per cent more space than a comparable 30 meter monohull.

Posted onLYANA is now named SWAN. (Click to access her profile and to book this gorgeous Benetti!)
Entering her third season in the Mediterranean, motor yacht SWAN looks as fresh and inviting as the day she launched.
SWAN luxury Benetti superyacht
The Benetti yacht charter vessel is the epitome of elegance. Someone effectively blended contemporary style with classic touches.
Sixty meter SWAN and her crew are now seasoned veterans. They are ready to deliver a highly satisfying summer charter. This yacht is capable of cruising at 14 knots. She shares Western Mediterranean. Her itinerary includes destinations such as the Amalfi Coast, Corsica, Sardinia, Monaco, St Tropez and the Côte d’Azur.
Let’s take a closer look at M/Y SWAN. Interior by Paris-based Pierre-Yves Rochon design. It offers classic shapes, set in a color scheme of beige and crème for furnishing and upholstery. Everything is framed by dark lacquered wood for cabinets and joinery. Uniquely, a collection of fine artwork by Botero, Dali, and others spreads throughout the interior.
One charter guest described this area as, “Tasteful, with an overall calm and hospitable feel.”
A central spiral staircase connects all interior decks. Adjacent to this central area is the owner’s office which serves as the entrypoint to the master suite. Lavishly spacious, this room has the look and feel of a fully-equipped spa. The massive bathroom features a rainforest shower area with hydro-therapy jets. The stateroom itself is bathed in natural light via a circular central skylight, and a semicircular array of windows that turn this room into a luxurious private observation lounge with panoramic views beyond the yacht’s bow.
Motor yacht SWAN can accommodate up to twelve guests, with additional staterooms found on the upper and lower decks. Located on the lower deck, two doubles and two twins can be found, all adjacent to the central staircase. Each cabin has sumptuous ensuite bathrooms.
On the upper deck, a VIP suite doubles as both an extra stateroom as well as a massage and wellness area. A licensed masseuse is onboard and at the guests’ disposal.
The aft section of the upper deck features an open-air saloon where a bar, games table, and multiple seating arrangements can be found. Although this may be true, the large space allows for both intimate dinner parties as well as elegant cocktail parties.
Charter rates from €320,000 per week.

Posted on“Spanish IVA (VAT) remains at 21% – nearly double the typical fees found in other EU countries,” states Jana Sheeder, President of SailAway Yacht Charters and 1-800 Yacht Charters. Sheeder adds, “A myriad of permits and registration requirements makes it difficult for charter vessels to commit to cruising in Spain.Without Spanish registration, these yachts cannot begin and end a charter within Spanish waters. So the combination of administrative burdens and high IVA keeps most charter yachts out of Spain.”
Sheeder explains,“The tax has not been eliminated. The Ministry was careful to use the words, ‘Ceased to be applied.’ While we expect the Spanish Parliament to vote in favor of the Ministry’s position on the matriculation tax, there is no guarantee that a future administration won’t vote to reinstate it.”
Still, the abolishment of the matriculation tax is a step in the right direction. Parliament’s approval is expected within the next few months and the new exemption should be in place in time for the summer 2014 charter season.

Posted onWe shared 70-meter motor yacht SHERAKHAN previously. She is an expedition yacht charter vessel heading to the Antarctic.
We received an update today from Sioned. She is one of the yacht owner’s assistants.
“Heading ever further south, with temperatures dropping and the number of icebergs sighted increasing daily, SHERAKHAN arrived in Grytviken yesterday. Having been cleared in by customs, and all on board received the South Georgia stamp in their passports, the guests and crew visited the local museum in Grytviken where they met all the locals – all 20 of them!”
The charter guests and crew were treated in South Georgia to what Williams described as
“…witnessed the awesome sight of a colony of around half a million King Penguins and thousands of fur seals on the beach.”
Next stop on the itinerary arises. The superyacht cruises towards St. Andrew’s Bay. Furthermore, she then makes her way toward the Antarctic Sounds.
Motor yacht Sherakhan accommodates up to 26 passengers in thirteen staterooms.
She is available from March 1, in Ushuaia. In addition, she welcomes you to the Falklands. Additionally, Panama yacht charter and Costa Rica yachting vacations are available. These begin late March, as the vessel subsequently heads north to the Caribbean. In conclusion, her itinerary is both unique and memorable. You deserve The Superyacht Experience™, as only 1-800 Yacht Charter provides.
