HER BACKGROUND
MINE GAMES is a 2007 build – conforming to ABS class and MCA compliance. She accommodates up to 12 guests. Her accommodations include a master, three doubles, and a twin. Her twin includes a Pullman berth. The yacht cruises at a swift 18 knots.
EXTERIOR AND TOYS
Mine Games is helicopter-capable, and she has a very large swim platform/beach deck. To sweeten the deal, a Triton two-person submarine (a favorite toy for yacht charter guests) is included in the new asking price of $31.45 million.

A new Italian yacht tax will assess a fee for each day a yacht is in service in Italian waters.
Signed into law on December 22, 2011, the new tax will go into effect on May 1, 2012.
DECREE STATES
The new tax as outlined in the decree is as follows:
5 Euro per day for vessels from 10.01 to 12 meters
8 Euro per day for vessels from 12.01 to 14 meters
10 Euro per day for vessels from 14.01 to 17 meters
30 Euro per day for vessels from 17.01 to 24 meters
90 Euro per day for vessels from 24.01 to 34 meters
207 Euro per day for vessels from 34.01 to 44 meters
372 Euro per day for vessels from 44.01 to 54 meters
521 Euro per day for vessels from 54.1 to 64 meters
703 Euro per day for vessels over 64 meters
EXCEPTIONS
The new law lists several exceptions.
First, vessels in dry dock or hauled out of the water – exempt from the daily fee
Second, for vessels older than 5, 10 or 15 years, the tax reduces by 15%, 30% and 45%, respectively
Third, all fees for sailing yachts – reduced by 50%

EXAMPLE
Thus, if you reserve the 60 meter Lursen yacht charter motor yacht ARKLEY for a week, you will incur a fee of € 3,647. Conversely, if you select a sail yacht for your holiday, such as 57 meter Royal Huisman’s sailing yacht TWIZZLE, you’ll pay € 1,824.
“We fully support the efforts of the Italian government to bolster their sagging economy,” says Sheeder. “What we have not seen, however, is a detailed analysis of the economic impact that the new tax will have on the Mediterranean yacht charter industry, and the impact on ancillary industries which support yachting such as marinas, fuel brokers, repair specialists, provisioning companies, and travel and tourism offices.”
A new digital superyacht technology tool for yacht owners and superyacht charter guests is available. The portal provides real-time access to the yacht’s onboard information systems. Technophile guests can view the vessel’s specs, layout, and weather forecasts. Surprisingly, they can even track their yacht charter itinerary.
YIS
The Yacht Information System (YIS) is an innovative digital tool. It is a YachtCloud design. Onboard guests can access the portal via the yacht’s televisions via an IPTV channel. Additionally, guests can access the portal via an app they download onto their smartphones or tablets.
THE WAY WE WERE
Until recently, charterers would visit with the captain when they wanted information. They would go to the command center of the yacht, the captain’s bridge. Here, they would ask the captain questions. For example, “What’s the final destination for today’s cruise?” Or they might ask, “How long will it take us to get to the next port of call?”
With the YIS portal, clients can get instant answers – from anywhere onboard the yacht!
THINK OF IT AS A WINDOW
The technology customizes to meet the specific interests of the charter guests. Superyachts are massive, and in addition, true wonders of technology. The inner working of the crew, and the capabilities of the yacht, intrigue many charter guests. In particular, clients often tell us they would love to visit the yacht’s engine room. However, some guests feel they are, “in the way” of the engine room crew. They then and forego this visit. Only thing to single out once again was how completely wonderful the crew were. Absolutely brilliant. One really great touch was that during the charter, the crew took photos too and the First Officer spent hours putting them together onto a CD with music as a memento. Really, really special touch!
